Sunny skies and wonderful weather continue in SoCal this weekend while almost everyone else in the country recovers from terrible temps, also known as the polar vortex.

Take advantage of all that La-La Land has to offer and clear room in your calendar for a no pants party on the Metro (seriously), a Mary Poppins sing-a-long and a session of Vinyasa yoga followed by delicious craft beer.

1. It's a no pants party — and the entire city is invited

Bust out your best pair of panties but leave the slacks at home for L.A.'s 6th annual No Pants Metro Ride. The creative chaos was created by New York-based Improv Everywhere 13 years ago and has grown to quite the event with 16 cities participating last year. L.A. is expected to be 70 degrees and sunny Sunday so you won't have to worry about a drift in your undercarriage. Unfortunately for New Yorkers, they can't say the same. It'll be partly sunny and 45 degrees there. (Oh, and here's advice on how to stay out of trouble.)
When: 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday
Where: The Gold Line's Atlantic and Sierra Madre Villa stations; Purple Line's Wilshire/Western station; Red Line's North Hollywood station and the Expo Line's Culver City station

2. Dog Haus to host a slider eating contest

Dog Haus Biergarten is kicking off Pasadena's third annual Cheeseburger Week (January 12 - 17) with a cheesy challenge. Ten pre-determined competitors will face off to see who can eat the most Dog Haus sliders in just six minutes this Saturday. Over $1,000 in food credit and prizes will be awarded to the top three participants while music, booze and food will be available for everyone else. Expect a giant Jenga competition, too.

3. Make fun of New Year's Resolutions at the Upright Citizens Brigade
We make them every year: Eat right. Lose weight. Recycle more. Shop less. But do we ever actually keep up with them? Hear comedians from Upright Citizens Brigade and HelloGiggles — including Carly Foulkes aka the "The T-Mobile girl" — share their past New Year's resolutions and the tragedy that ensued in this comedy show Saturday.

4. Ode to Sid Vicious — 'Superman Is Dead' — closes Saturday

Don't miss this collaborative exhibit by Dennis Morris and Shepard Fairey. Not only does it feature paintings, prints and photographs of the former Sex Pistols' bassist and punk icon Sid Vicious but also a life-size replica of the hotel room he destroyed in 1977 during the S.P.O.T.S. tour.

5. UCLA Museum to host a worldly weaving class

Explore the museum's South American exhibit "The Peruvian Four-Selvaged Cloth: Ancient Threads/New Directions" before taking this hand-on class. Dubbed "Kids in the Courtyard: Weave a Giant Spider Web," bring the whole family while you sit among the strings and learn creation stories about weavers around the world. You'll also get the chance to explore weaving yourself by building a take-home cardboard loom.

6. Sing-a-long with Mary Poppins at El Capitan

Chim chiminy, chim chiminy, chim chim chiree! Catch this 1964 classic starring our favorite magical nanny at El Capitan this weekend. In between slurps of soda and handfuls of popcorn, sing along to the words as they're blasted on the big screen.

7. Run, do yoga and drink beer with Angel City

No need to feel guilty about a few drinks this weekend. Angel City Brewery is hosting a lovely day of working out the mind, body and mouth. Join the brewing company this Sunday for a two-mile run around downtown L.A., followed by a Vinyasa flow class and, you guessed it, beer. Ten dollars includes the exercise and one beer.
