How to Earth Day.

Before you
Dear reader, we're asking you to help us keep local news available for all. Your financial support keeps our stories free to read, instead of hidden behind paywalls. We believe when reliable local reporting is widely available, the entire community benefits. Thank you for investing in your neighborhood.

For those not not planning to attend the Festival of Books, there are a few Earth Day events around town this weekend: everything from KCET's Strange Planet screening event at the Aquarium of the Pacific to hand-on, down-and-dirty creek restoration projects. LA Weekly's Judith Lewis has a list of Los Angeles Earth Day events, as does Earth Day LA.Not a joiner? You don't have to sign up to plant a tree, ride your bike, or pick up some trash while you're at the beach. Or even to recycle and reuse.

Happy Earth Day, LA.
