So we admit that LAist has had a Dodger bias, since we were first published about a year ago. The Dodgers, unlike the Angels, actually play in Los Angeles, and have made a firm imprint here. The Angels--with whatever city name they like to play under--are just a team of the moment, and have a lot more catching up to do.But the Los Angeles of Anaheim team made a bold statement this weekend, sweeping the Dodgers, widening their first place lead, and have established themselves as today's Los Angeles bandwagon team.

Even we admit that there is a lot to like about the Angels. They have one of the game's best owners in Arte Moreno. They have the game's best player in Vladimir Guerrero. And they have a manager that we've always liked, even if Mike Scioscia was completely wrong in the Brenden Donnelly-Frank Robinson incident.

The Angels are winning games the old Dodger way - with pitching. Every Angels pitcher has an ERA under 4 (including the bullpen), with the exception of minor league callup Ervin Santana. Last Saturday night, Santana shut down the Dodgers depleted lineup on Saturday anyways. All of this has made the Angels one of the most exciting teams in baseball.
