Great Northern Sleepy Eepee Contest

This story is free to read because readers choose to support LAist. If you find value in independent local reporting, make a donation to power our newsroom today.

I hate contests. Hate. LAist doesn't need them, lots of you don't appreciate them, it's not what big blogs do, and we have quietly become a big blog in this town.

But I love Great Northern. Love. I first saw them at SXSW in March, and it's been nice to watch them get on the cover of the Weekly (and the drummer at that), and it's great to see them continue to make good music like what's found on their latest lil EP "Sleepy Eepee" that hit iTunes early this morning.

So what we have been offered are a few pairs of tickets to their show on Thursday at the Echoplex (with Robbers on High Street), and autographed cds, and some tshirts.

Winners will be chosen tonight at midnight. Details on how to enter after the jump.

Great Northern - "Low is a Height"

To enter to win, tell us in the comments something we don't know. We think the cover of Sleepy Eepee is the coolest cd cover of 2007. Show us another cover of a cd that came out this year that's better.

Three random winners will be notified tonight around midnight, and will be expected to write back by 9:30am tomorrow confirming their entry and mailing address for the merch.

Registered commentors only please.

Good luck!

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
