Old School Ice Cream Favorites Get A Modern Twists At Jeni's Splendid
Jeni's Splendid in Los Feliz will premiere a new line of ice creams inspired by classic flavors at a special event tomorrow.
Because we can always use new ice cream flavors in this town, the Ohio-based Jeni's is rolling out a new collection of scoops known as American Licks, which features updated versions of childhood dessert favorites like mint chip, orange sherbet and black and white cookies. And on Wednesday night at their shop on Hillhurst Ave., you can sample the flavors ahead of their national release as part of a special art exhibition-themed event.
Beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, the first 50 people in line will be treated to a free limited-edition swag bag from Jeni's. Throughout the evening, founder Jeni Britton Bauer will also be there to answer all of your pressing ice cream-related questions. You'll also get a chance to learn about the new flavors with a fun, art installation, which will include an audio tour, gift shop and poster gallery.
Among the new American Licks flavors are the Black & White with scratch-made dark chocolate cookies with white chocolate and vanilla-scented ice cream; the Green Mint with peppermint ice cream colored with spirulina and crunchy chopped chocolate; and Luxardo Cherries Jubilee: cherries and brandied sweet cream ice cream.
Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams is located at 1954 Hillhurst Avenue; 323-928-2668.
