Gordon Ramsay Getting Sued by Former Fat Cow Employees
Celeb chef and restauranteur Gordon Ramsay has some trouble on his hands. Former employees Jennifer Becerra, Montinique Dever, Andrea Bourke and Lauren Benge have filed a class action lawsuit against Ramsay, saying that he violated several workers' rights laws at his restaurant The Fat Cow at the Grove.
The employees at the fancified gastropub claim they were overworked and under-compensated, and were forced to "work through their meal and rest periods without paying compensation for missed meal and rest breaks," among other allegations. Says Radar:
The famed chef had a class action lawsuit thrown his way Thursday when current and former employees of his Fat Cow restaurant filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court claiming failure to pay minimum wage for hours worked, failure to provide meal periods, failure to pay overtime wages and more.
A spokesperson for the company said that they were "aware there was a problem with previous management which has since been changed, but this is totally unacceptable if any truth to it.”
