Eye Nosh: Doughnuts & Bourbon Pairing @ Grace
As we mentioned earlier in today's Get Out, tonight is the last night of Grace's popular doughnut and bourbon pairing created by Pastry Chef Mariah Swan and Wine Director Eduardo Porto Carreiro.
Tasters get three different doughnuts paired with single barrel bourbons. We snagged a reservation last night and checked it out--and hands-down our favorite doughnut was the Salt and Pepper Caramel Glazed. The bourbon pours were a little uneven among our tasters, but the experience was still worth it.
Reservations (323.934.4400) are highly recommended for a table, but not needed for a tasting in Grace's small bar/lounge area. The pairing with bourbon is $24, and doughnuts alone are $12. Even if you can't make the pairing tonight, Grace on Beverly will be closing on June 19 to prep for a 2011 re-launch at the Vibiana downtown, so you might want to get your fill of Swan's dessert doughnuts while you can.
