Pizza Buona, which had to move from its home at Sunset Blvd. and Alvarado St. in Echo Park last year, has found a new space. According to The Eastsider, they'll be reopening on Thursday, September 15 in a shopping plaza at Alvarado and Montrose. Proprietor Israel Palacios told the Eastsider last summer that a recent rent hike had forced them out of the space. This new location will have all the same menu items, as well as the same kitchen equipment as the old spot.

Pizza Buona takes over a space formerly occupied by Coco International Foods, and Alimento owner Zach Pollack will open Cosa Buona, an East Coast-style Italian-American restaurant, in Pizza Buona's former home, Eater reports. Pollack plans to move the restaurant's front door, which someone crashed into in 2012, injuring a pregnant woman. (She and her baby both survived.) He also plans to add a bar.
