The local news you read here every day is crafted for you, but right now, we need your help to keep it going. In these uncertain times, your support is even more important. Today, put a dollar value on the trustworthy reporting you rely on all year long. We can't hold those in power accountable and uplift voices from the community without your partnership. Thank you.

Assuming we've already abandoned hope that we'll follow through on any sort of New Year's resolutions to eat healthier, let's just dive into this weekend with as much indulgence as we can handle. From a heavy metal burger feast to an extravagant foie gras dinner, here are some deliciously decadent food events for you to enjoy this weekend.

(No) Snow Day (Festival) at Angel City Brewery

Whether you're playing hooky or just looking to start the weekend early, Angel City Brewery is hosting a (NO) Snow Day with food trucks, beer specials, live music and fake snow. From 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, they'll be throwing a benefit for the nonprofit Global Inheritance, which will be there to talk about creative ways to harness the rainfall from this year’s “Godzilla El Niño.” There will be tasty eats from La Casa Del Cuoco, Sweet E’s Bake Shop, Tropical Sno and Dogtown Dogs, and beer specials like their 9.9% Problems & A Stout Ain’t One, Russian Imperial Stout. There'll be crackling faux fireplaces, a screening of Gremlins at 4 p.m., and performances from The Kaygle$ and Countless Thousands. More info can be found here.

Terrine's Foie Gras Feast

To commemorate the anniversary of California's repealed foie gras ban, Chef Kris Morningstar has designed a decadent all-foie menu. From a foie gras, smoked pheasant and apple terrine to foie gras on toast with quince purée, pink peppercorn, and even a dessert of port-soaked pear with foie gras chantilly, there's plenty of foie to go around. You can order the dishes a la carte or go big with the complete 5-course foie menu for $95/person and a wine flight to pair for an additional $35.

Terrine's Head Bartender Ryan Wainwright will also be hosting L.A. bar maven Karen Grill for a special “His & Hers” collaborative cocktail menu, which amounts to an Iron Chef-style showdown to see how each one uses pre-selected ingredients.
