A Foie Gras Feast, A Black Metal Burger Party & More Weekend Eats

Assuming we've already abandoned hope that we'll follow through on any sort of New Year's resolutions to eat healthier, let's just dive into this weekend with as much indulgence as we can handle. From a heavy metal burger feast to an extravagant foie gras dinner, here are some deliciously decadent food events for you to enjoy this weekend.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 15
(No) Snow Day (Festival) at Angel City Brewery
Whether you're playing hooky or just looking to start the weekend early, Angel City Brewery is hosting a (NO) Snow Day with food trucks, beer specials, live music and fake snow. From 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, they'll be throwing a benefit for the nonprofit Global Inheritance, which will be there to talk about creative ways to harness the rainfall from this year’s “Godzilla El Niño.” There will be tasty eats from La Casa Del Cuoco, Sweet E’s Bake Shop, Tropical Sno and Dogtown Dogs, and beer specials like their 9.9% Problems & A Stout Ain’t One, Russian Imperial Stout. There'll be crackling faux fireplaces, a screening of Gremlins at 4 p.m., and performances from The Kaygle$ and Countless Thousands. More info can be found here.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 16
3rd Anniversary Metal Party at Grill 'Em All
The Great Food Truck Race burger champs will be celebrating their third year at their brick-and-mortar spot in Alhambra with an epic bash from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Chow down on their fully-loaded burgs, including a one-day-only return of their old school Blue Cheer burger, and enjoy all-day beer specials like $1 cans of Busch. You'll also get free birthday cake with every purchase, have the chance to get free black metal face paint, and rock out to DJ Katon (of thrash legends Hirax) who will be spinning metal from 6 p.m. onward. SUNDAY, JANUARY 17
Terrine's Foie Gras Feast
To commemorate the anniversary of California's repealed foie gras ban, Chef Kris Morningstar has designed a decadent all-foie menu. From a foie gras, smoked pheasant and apple terrine to foie gras on toast with quince purée, pink peppercorn, and even a dessert of port-soaked pear with foie gras chantilly, there's plenty of foie to go around. You can order the dishes a la carte or go big with the complete 5-course foie menu for $95/person and a wine flight to pair for an additional $35.
Terrine's Head Bartender Ryan Wainwright will also be hosting L.A. bar maven Karen Grill for a special “His & Hers” collaborative cocktail menu, which amounts to an Iron Chef-style showdown to see how each one uses pre-selected ingredients.
