Yasiel Puig Continues to Marvel

A day after going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts, Yasiel Puig started his fourth day in the Majors modestly. Until the eighth inning he went 1-for-3 with a strikeout.

The Dodgers loaded the bases in the eighth inning on Atlanta Braves reliever Cory Gearrin who came in for Braves starter Tim Hudson who pitched seven innings of one-run ball.

Up came Puig. He saw a slider from Gearrin and this happened:

So to review, Puig is now batting 7-for-16 (.438) with three homers and nine RBI in four days. The Dodgers are also 3-1.

The last time Dodger Stadium had been this energized was when Manny Ramirez first arrived in town in 2008. Hopefully Puig's welcome lasts a little longer.
