That's what the Discovery Channel is trying to figure out and they are coming to town this weekend to get your opinion. The Greatest American is a 7 hour series that will air on the channel this summer where we will all get the chance to vote for who is #1 based on a list of 100 candidates as compiled by suggestions from AOL members.

Hmmm, that should be an interesting list.

The Greatest American Road Tour which features giveaways, impersonators, and the Greatest American tour bus (but no mention of The Greatest American Hero) will be at the Arclight today from 4 PM til 9 PM. Obviously they are searching out the Star Wars nerd contingent this evening. Tomorrow and Sunday, they will be at the Discovery Store in the Westfield Shopping Center in Sherman Oaks (although I think we locals still call it the Fashion Square Mall) all day.

They also have a blog featuring quotes and details about some of their previous events. From the looks of things, bring your kids. Finding the Greatest American is a family affair.
