We all know the drill by now: Since CBS assumes that none of it's viewers are a) under 70 or b) live on the west coast, the Grammy awards are broadcast at the greedy network-friendly time of 8pm Eastern and Pacific time. Meaning the show, which is broadcast live to the rest of the country, begins locally just as the actual event is coming to an end at Staples Center.

For everybody outside of the executive offices at CBS it's all too obvious that we live in a real time world in which text messages, tweets, facebook updates, blogs, and even CBS' own websites will not suspend time for the sake of airing a delayed broadcast of the Grammys during prime time.

Fortunately the Grammys has worked things out so we can watch the awards live -- yes, even the pre-awards awards show -- online. The programming starts today with a livestream of the Social Media Rock Stars event at Conga Room and continues through Sunday night at youtube.com/thegrammys.
