LAist made the trek over to Westwood for an intimate pair of performances by Warpaint and Slang Chickens, respectively, at UCLA's Kerckhoff Grand Salon. The show, hosted by the Campus Events Commission, was a student-only affair and attracted a few dozen or so attendees. Slang Chickens began the evening with an ambiguous yet energetic set, complete with an electric banjo and a Grand Canyon-sized reverb in tow. Warpaint then followed and kicked-off their set with a 7 minute impromptu jam session before transitioning into their lead-in single, "Stars." The night concluded an hour later as the band closed out with the crowd favorite,"Elephants."

Special thanks to Richard Kim for sneaking LAist in with a Bruin card!
