As I predicted in my post last week, "True Blood" saw a resurgence in ratings this last weekend in contrary to the doomsayers who based their assumptions that the show was in decline because of a drop in viewership over the 4th of July weekend. And you call yourselves professionals?

Entertainment Podcast Roundup: Podcast studio Earwolf has launched the first podcast reality competition: podcasters compete for a year-long contract with Earwolf and you can review the competitors now and follow along as the contest continues. We are regular listeners of Paul Scheer's "How Did This Get Made?" and Scott Aukerman's "Comedy Bang Bang: The Podcast." [Not: Paul Scheer will not only be a big part of the upcoming season of "The League" on FX, whether or not there is NFL football this fall, but his new Adult Swim series "NTSF:SD:SUV::" premieres on July 21st, can't wait!]. --- / --- Greg Proops will be recording his "Smartest Man In The World" podcast live and for free at Bar Lubitsch (7702 Santa Monica Boulevard, WeHo) tomorrow (Wednesday) night at 7pm - always a great time, I highly recommend it.

"X-Files" fans will want to know that Gillian Anderson is picking up even more work on BBC adaptations of Charles Dickens classics. She's done Bleak House and now Great Expectations is on her schedule where she will play Miss Haversham, which seems like a bit of a stretch.
---
Hopefully she will be playing Casey Anthony: Also in casting news, Mariana Klaveno who played the stunning (and evil) Lorena in HBO's "True Blood" has been cast in a multi-episode arc in Showtime's "Dexter." We talked to Klaveno at the Emmys last year and we're so glad to see that she'll be back on TV again soon.
