TV Junkie: Vids of 'Men of a Certain Age' & 'Justified' at the Peabody Awards
One of our favorite shows, TNT's "Men of a Certain Age," starring Ray Romano, André Braugher, and Scott Bakula, won a Peabody Award on Monday. We had a brief chat with the stars and co-creator Mike Royce in the above video. Look for an in-depth interview with Mike Royce next week here on LAist at the TV Junkie.
Below is our video with key players of another favorite series of ours, FX's "Justified," who also won on Monday. In the video we have series executive producer Graham Yost, co-executive producer and series star Timothy Olyphant, and world-famous writer Elmore Leonard who penned the original story and characters.

We're entering a wishy-washy time of TV with plenty of reruns as the official "spring" season ends and the transitional summer programming begins. June will have plenty of premieres so stay tuned with us here. It appears that late night TV is picking up some of the slack with plenty of great shows for us - check out tonight's TV Junkie Must-Watch Plan below for an example.

Please check out my interview with one of my favorite comedians who runs one of my favorite TV shows - yes, we talked to Louis C.K. on location in NYC as he was filming scenes of "Louie."

Yesterday Oprah Winfrey's "final" show aired and I anticipate that finality is as real as Larry King's "final" show. We're going to be seeing both of those people on a lot of TV for many years to come. With her OWN network's paltry schedule of programs, Winfrey will probably have to launch more than one program starring herself in order to save the thing. Former Queen of All Media, Martha Stewart, has had a horrible transition to cable on Hallmark with a lot of her shows being pulled as they were getting lower ratings than reruns of treacly Hallmark specials, will Oprah find herself in a similar position 18 months from now?

TV star, and a fave of mine particularly since she did "The Comeback," Lisa Kudrow will be hosting the 15th annual Webby Awards which will be broadcast live on Facebook on June 13th.

As Editor-in-Chief of our newsroom, I’m extremely proud of the work our top-notch journalists are doing here at LAist. We’re doing more hard-hitting watchdog journalism than ever before — powerful reporting on the economy, elections, climate and the homelessness crisis that is making a difference in your lives. At the same time, it’s never been more difficult to maintain a paywall-free, independent news source that informs, inspires, and engages everyone.
Simply put, we cannot do this essential work without your help. Federal funding for public media has been clawed back by Congress and that means LAist has lost $3.4 million in federal funding over the next two years. So we’re asking for your help. LAist has been there for you and we’re asking you to be here for us.
We rely on donations from readers like you to stay independent, which keeps our nonprofit newsroom strong and accountable to you.
No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, press freedom is at the core of keeping our nation free and fair. And as the landscape of free press changes, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust, but the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news from our community.
Please take action today to support your trusted source for local news with a donation that makes sense for your budget.
Thank you for your generous support and believing in independent news.
