Crooked Cowboy & The Fresh Water Indians play tonight at the Echoplex | Picture via Crooked Cowboy's Myspace

Our Pick: Crooked Cowboy & The Fresh Water Indians @ Echoplex

Sunday was clearly not intended for rest, at least in the music world. Tonight LA will be commandeered by electro-pop, particularly female-fronted acts. London-based singer Alison Goldfrapp will be gracing the vaudeville-esque Orpheum Theatre. São Paulo's pop phenomenon CSS will presumably be showcasing material from 2008's Donkey for the first time at one of Downtown's finest venues, the Mayan Theatre. And London's electronic heavyweights Hot Chip will be kicking off their two-date stint at the Wiltern tonight as well. If you're looking for the dance floor, it'll be a sure-fire way of getting down. But the real treat of the night is the Crooked Cowboy & The Fresh Water Indians spectacular at the Echoplex. The Highland Park-bred eldritch crooner will be accompanied by a 40-piece orchestra! How often do you get to see something like that at the Echoplex?
