Our Pick: The New Los Angeles Folk Festival feat. Linda Perhacs, Mia Doi Todd, Les Shelleys, Ariana Delawari, LA LAdies Choir, He's My Brother, She's My Sister, Olentangy John, Henry Wolfe, Eagle Winged Palace, Robert James, Sandra Sarra and more @ HM157 (3110 N. Broadway Ave., Los Angeles)
Tonight Chapel Hill orchestral pop collective Lost in the Trees will be gracing McCabe's Guitar Shop in Santa Mon Mon. Local electro-infused indie rock duo boxViolet are poised to take on the with none other than Nazcar Nation and 8MM in tow. And, lastly, Newport Beach's own experimental indie rockers Dolphin City will be performing at Spaceland, sharing the stage with Texan duo Restavrant. But we strongly suggest doing whatever it takes to get over to HM157 for the New Los Angeles Folk Festival. A wide array or folk troubadours—both old and new—including living legend Linda Perhacs, Mia Doi Todd, LA Ladies Choir and Eagle Winged Palace, among many more, are slated to perform.

We’re doing more hard-hitting watchdog journalism than ever before — powerful reporting on the economy, elections, climate and the homelessness crisis that is making a difference in your lives. At the same time, it’s never been more difficult to maintain a paywall-free, independent news source that informs, inspires, and engages everyone.
Simply put, we cannot do this essential work without your help. Federal funding for public media has been clawed back by Congress and that means LAist has lost $3.4 million in federal funding over the next two years. So we’re asking for your help. LAist has been there for you and we’re asking you to be here for us.
We rely on donations from readers like you to stay independent, which keeps our nonprofit newsroom strong and accountable to you.
