Tonight In Rock: Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, The Donkeys, Harlem, Orgone

Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti will be performing tonight at the Echoplex | Picture via Ariel Pink's Myspace
Our Pick: Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, Magic Kids, Puro Instinct @ Echoplex
Tonight San Diegan retro 60s rock act the Donkeys will be headlining Spaceland with Foreign Born side-project Big Search in tow. Austin-based garage rockers Harlem are poised to grace the Echo with Echo Park's own psych-rockers Black Apples and Audacity. And, lastly, local funk troupe Orgone will be performing for free at noon in the heart of Downtown at California Plaza. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echoplex to catch lo-fi, psychedelic pop maestros Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, who recently released their ninth studio-album—2010's Before Today. LAist favorites, local lo-fi pop trio Pearl Harbor, who are currently operating under the moniker Puro Instinct, and Memphis-bred orchestral pop outfit Magic Kids are slated to kick things off.

At the same time, it’s never been more difficult to maintain a paywall-free, independent news source that informs, inspires, and engages everyone.
Simply put, we cannot do this essential work without your help. Federal funding for public media has been clawed back by Congress and that means LAist has lost $3.4 million in federal funding over the next two years. So we’re asking for your help. LAist has been there for you and we’re asking you to be here for us.
We rely on donations from readers like you to stay independent, which keeps our nonprofit newsroom strong and accountable to you.
No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, press freedom is at the core of keeping our nation free and fair.
