Had enough of Oprah? Sick of Maury? Wish that you knew exactly what kind of medical degree that Dr. Phil guy actually has? Well fret no more fellow Angelenos. Our humble little town is about to be blessed by the presence of greatness. That’s right: "The View" is coming to L.A.! (Insert happy TV Theme music here)

Yes, Meredith, Joy, Barbra, Elizabeth and newlywed Star are about to bless us with their witty banter and cutting edge, cogent political analysis for an entire week of showsas part of their nebulous “Year Long Celebration”.

Wow. Five whole days of our very own piece of “The View”. LAist can’t wait to hear more about all the free stuff Star Jones strong-armed out of ABC sponsors for her wedding. And we never get enough of that whip-smart Elizabeth, who in case you didn’t know is pregnant. And the mouth on that Joy! LAist is so excited we can barely stand it. Why does February 7th seem so far away?

More good news: two lucky viewers will be coming with them! Thank God for those tourist dollars. Whatever would we do without them? And those lucky winners don’t just get the trip to SoCal. They also get to revel in VIP Seats at the El Capitan Theater, a free makeover using products from the Alberto VO5 Styling line (Say it with me: “oooh, Alberto!”) and, here’s the kicker, actual ground transportation! Man, just wait till they get a load of Hollywood Boulevard.

If LAist sounds jealous it’s only because we’re fans of a different program: a show that on a daily basis showcases an unyielding power to move people and communicate its unwavering message of love, honor and respect among equals.
