Video: Jon Hamm Saves A Hummingbird Like The God That He Is

Our June member drive is live: protect this resource!
Right now, we need your help during our short June member drive to keep the local news you read here every day going. This has been a challenging year, but with your help, we can get one step closer to closing our budget gap. Today, put a dollar value on the trustworthy reporting you rely on all year long. We can't hold those in power accountable and uplift voices from the community without your partnership.

As if my boyfriend Jon Hamm could get any dreamier, he goes ahead and channels St. Francis of Assisi to save a hummingbird. Blessedly, the act was caught on camera. In the video posted on Instagram by Girls producer Jenni Konner, we see Hamm and actor Andrew Rannells (who plays Elijah on Girls) using baseball hats to corral a hummingbird that had made its way inside. Hamm then traps the hummingbird under his hat and gently—oh, so gently—nudges the sweet beast out of the window to freedom. The assembled crowd (another Girls actor, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, can be spotted) then cheers the beautiful display of compassion as Hamm gives a victorious high-five to Rannells. All hail Hamm, savior of animals!

As he was surrounded by so many of the Girls gang, our guess is that Hamm was at some kind of viewing party to catch last night's season premiere. TMZ, where are you when we need you?
