Want to shoot like a pro? On August 12, National Geographic Traveler will give you the chance to with their "Simply Beautiful Photographs" seminar at the Skirball Cultural Center.

For $195, newcomers and aspiring photographers from all levels of experience can learn how to use light, composition, color, and a keen eye to create perfect photos. The seminar runs from 10am to 5pm and will be led by Nat Geo Traveler photographers Annie Griffiths and Dan Westergren, who have captured moments everywhere from Thailand and Pakistan to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro and the North Pole, respectively.

Griffiths and Westergren will cover topics including composition and light, contrast and color, and how to express your personal and artistic voice in photos. They will also guide participants on how to look for interesting subjects and decide which moments should be captured behind the lens.

Attendees can also enter a raffle to win prizes and pick up a complimentary photo book. The event will also give participants a photo-op to try out their newly acquired skills and will conclude with a cocktail reception presented by Acura.
