Photos: Jane Lynch Gleefully Receives Star On Walk Of Fame
Glee star Jane Lynch received the 2,505th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today and her trademark frown as grinchy coach Sue Sylvester was nowhere to be seen as she mugged it up for the camera.
Ryan Murphy, creator of Glee, was on hand to laud his Emmy-winning star. "She is the hardest-working person on the set... she makes everybody better and everybody happier. She is one of the comedy greats in our business—a true class act," he said, according to Digital Spy.
As she told Variety, Murphy described the role to her as, '"Sue Sylvester may or may not be on horse estrogen and she may or may not have posed for Penthouse.' So I took that and ran with that."
She was also joined by comedic actor/writer/director Christopher Guest, who put her in his films Best in Show, A Mighty Wind and For Your Consideration. She told Variety she first met him doing a Kellogg's Frosted Flakes commercial. (Hear that, actors? That breakout role could be around the corner!)
The 53-year-old actress tweeted out a pic of the star, saying "Here she is. #mindblown." She also confessed to smacking her nose with her car door last night. Fortunately, she looked camera ready this morning for the 11:30 a.m. ceremony.
The star is located at 6640 Hollywood Boulevard in front of the Sports Center Store.
The new season of Glee premieres Thursday, September 26.
