Pets of the Week: William & Cheezit
Meet William, a handsome 1 1/2 year old cat currently being cared for by Sante D'or Foundation. He’s a good sized lad with lots of energy and plenty of desire to play. William is friendly with other cats & dogs but would be just as happy being king of the household. If you'd like to meet William, the Sante D'Or Adoption Center is open Friday through Sunday from 12noon-5pm.
Sante D'Or Foundation is celebrating 10 years of helping homeless pets during their annual fundraiser, Cocktails for Critters on September 30th at the Library at the Redbury Hotel. Raise a glass and help homeless pets!

Cheezit is an adorable 8 year old Pomeranian that Animals Rule saved when his former family dumped him after he was attacked by a dog. The attack led to him losing an eye, but that has not slowed him down one bit.
Cheezit is a brilliant little dog. He is so smart, it's like a little person is living inside his tiny 6 pound body. He is the perfect companion: very loving, happy all the time, and is very endearing. He loves other dogs and likes to snuggle with them, so if you have another dog, that's a plus for Cheezit! He will sit for a treat, and has learned down and stay. He's also great on a leash. Cheezit uses the doggie door at his foster home and is house trained. He is also crate trained and sleeps through the night in his crate without a peep. He enjoys his crate and will sometimes stay inside for a little alone time. This gem of a dog loves to play with toys and will chase whatever you throw for him. Animals Rules recommends that he be in a household with teenagers and older due to his small size. If you love this breed, you will want to meet this spectacular Pommie.
Cheezit is in foster care and you can meet him at the Animals Rule Saturday adoption events from 11am-3pm at Creative Pet Supply in San Pedro or contact Animals Rule.
Cheezit is neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped.
As Editor-in-Chief of our newsroom, I’m extremely proud of the work our top-notch journalists are doing here at LAist. We’re doing more hard-hitting watchdog journalism than ever before — powerful reporting on the economy, elections, climate and the homelessness crisis that is making a difference in your lives. At the same time, it’s never been more difficult to maintain a paywall-free, independent news source that informs, inspires, and engages everyone.
Simply put, we cannot do this essential work without your help. Federal funding for public media has been clawed back by Congress and that means LAist has lost $3.4 million in federal funding over the next two years. So we’re asking for your help. LAist has been there for you and we’re asking you to be here for us.
We rely on donations from readers like you to stay independent, which keeps our nonprofit newsroom strong and accountable to you.
No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, press freedom is at the core of keeping our nation free and fair. And as the landscape of free press changes, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust, but the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news from our community.
Please take action today to support your trusted source for local news with a donation that makes sense for your budget.
Thank you for your generous support and believing in independent news.
