Pets of the Week: Addison & Zelda

Before you
Dear reader, we're asking you to help us keep local news available for all. Your tax-deductible financial support keeps our stories free to read, instead of hidden behind paywalls. We believe when reliable local reporting is widely available, the entire community benefits. Thank you for investing in your neighborhood.

Addison, about 2 or 3 years old, is an extremely sweet and affectionate young man who can be a bit shy around new people but will flourish with someone who will be patient and allow him to get comfortable in a new home. For your patience you will be rewarded with a kitty who loves to cuddle and adores playing with any toy on a string.

He's a medium build, handsome orange Tabby who enjoys snuggling up with other cats, making him a great choice for someone looking to give their current cat a companion. Addison is curious about dogs, but needs extra time to feel totally safe around them. He's low-key and mellow, but sweet and will likely "let loose" once he finds his forever home and is fully at ease.

Addison is available for adoption from from Santé D'Or Foundation. Santé D'Or is a donor-supported, no-kill animal rescue that provides holistic care and sanctuary to animals, while working to secure them permanent homes. The organization is an educational resource in the neighborhood by offering rescue and adoption services; boarding and fostering; spay/neuter advocacy; behavior and nutrition counseling; and community outreach. They are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers, and donations of all shapes and sizes.

Contact Santé D'Or if you'd like to meet Addison, noon-5pm, Friday-Sunday and by appointment.

Meet Zelda, a 2-3 year-old mixed breed beauty. Zelda was rescued from a high-kill shelter with her babies, which have all been adopted. Now it's her turn to find a loving forever home. A bit shy at first, she warms up pretty fast, and loves nothing more than to cuddle up to you. Meet her and you will adore her soft brown eyes. Zelda is a chill little lady and would even do well for someone who lives in a small apartment. Please call 213-840-0153 to ask about Zelda.Zelda is currently adoption from Fur Baby, Fur Baby Rescue provides a temporary, safe home for cats, dogs, puppies and kittens.
