Pets of the Week: Mr. Dot & Sebastian
Mr. Black Dot is a sweet, charming fellow, approximately nine months old, who was rescued by Forgotten Animals of Los Angeles ("FALA"). He has black and white silky hair with a black beauty mark on his upper lip. Mr. Black Dot has a great personality! All he needs now is a good home.
Would you like to make Mr. Dot a part of your family? An adoption questionnaire and procedures are available at the Forgotten Animals of Los Angeles website.
Forgotten Animals of Los Angeles (FALA) is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to humane nurturing, neutering and finding loving homes for abandoned cats & kittens. Each animal receives a health check, is tested, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and dewormed prior to adoption. The tax-deductible donation required from each would-be adopter ensures the safety and welfare of the next abandoned cat or kitten in need.
Meet Sebastian! A sweet 4 years old, 53 pound German Shepherd. When he came to the Bill Foundation, his right leg had an old injury. After much debate with their orthopedist, he agreed to proceed with hip replacement surgery. Sebastian's almost completely healed and feels like a whole new dog!Sebastian is a really sweet, friendly dog. He is a complete gentleman on the leash and great around people. He loves to play with dogs of all sizes and is quite the little prancer. He is unfazed by barking dogs and all his dog and people friends adore him. He's also house trained.
Contact the Bill Foundation to meet Sebastian or stop by their mobile adoption Sunday October 7th from 1pm-3pm at the Healthy Spot in Santa Monica. The Bill Foundation rescues primarily dogs and sometimes cats from the Los Angeles City Shelter System and places them into loving homes.
As Editor-in-Chief of our newsroom, I’m extremely proud of the work our top-notch journalists are doing here at LAist. We’re doing more hard-hitting watchdog journalism than ever before — powerful reporting on the economy, elections, climate and the homelessness crisis that is making a difference in your lives. At the same time, it’s never been more difficult to maintain a paywall-free, independent news source that informs, inspires, and engages everyone.
Simply put, we cannot do this essential work without your help. Federal funding for public media has been clawed back by Congress and that means LAist has lost $3.4 million in federal funding over the next two years. So we’re asking for your help. LAist has been there for you and we’re asking you to be here for us.
We rely on donations from readers like you to stay independent, which keeps our nonprofit newsroom strong and accountable to you.
No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, press freedom is at the core of keeping our nation free and fair. And as the landscape of free press changes, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust, but the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news from our community.
Please take action today to support your trusted source for local news with a donation that makes sense for your budget.
Thank you for your generous support and believing in independent news.
