Rumor Mill: Nikki Finke Might Be Leaving Deadline Hollywood, For Real This Time
Earlier this year, rumors swirled that notorious industry-gossip columnist Nikki Finke got axed from her position at Deadline Hollywood. Finke denied it, but now, lips are flapping once again: Defamer reports that Finke could be leaving her post as soon as next month. They don't cite a source, but write that "a rumor circulated this afternoon" pointing to the fact that she'll be out come September.
Finke herself responded by saying, "I won't confirm or deny it. I can't talk about my contract."
The rumor about Finke leaving was originally made public in a piece at The Wrap by Sharon Waxman, who alleged that Finke had been clashing with Deadline Hollywood's owner, Jay Penske. Among other claims, Waxman's article quoted a source as saying, "“She’s been sending emails saying, ‘I’m going to f--- you,’ and Jay says he’s had it."
Finke has long been known for her unrelenting willingness to tear down Hollywood insiders without so much as a hint of reservation or remorse, and was called by Danielle Berrin at the Jewish Journal "the most feared, despised and uncompromising journalist in Hollywood."
