Last Minute Heads Up: Good Band Playing

This story is free to read because readers choose to support LAist. If you find value in independent local reporting, make a donation to power our newsroom today.

Badass surf bands are far and few between, and if you are asking us, it is a damned shame. But tonight all those who are within driving distance to El Segundo have at least 2 hours before June Suckerfish Spawn hit the stage at 9:30pm @ Bad Dog Ale House.

They are locals and they play a lot of shows, so don't start ripping your hair out immediately if you can't make it all the way to El Segundo, also commonly known as "B.F.E."

Feel free to look at their myspace page and/or their website, and jump on board. or don't...

But, c'mon MAN... It's summer time, and these guys are giving you that go kick some ass and kick it at the beach mix that is so missing in all our lives.

They remind us of a Quentin Tarrantino soundtrack. Yes we admit the name of the band is kinda like, "what the?" But we're sure there's some clever story that makes it a hilarious inside joke to SOMEONE. Just not LAist. But we are sure you will find yourself wanting more of what these dudes are hawkin. It's true.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
