The sophomore album by BenYomen is a progression towards the consciousness that hip-hop was meant stand for, living up to the Life For The Better crew’s charm. The combination of vibrant beats and socially aware lyrics makes Headphones Hum and Spraycans Rattle one of BenYomen’s best recordings.
“The World Is Mourning,” and “Loaner” takes two different approaches to the reality of life, making you take a closer look within yourself. The hook “In a world with violent streets and vibrant beats/where the silent trees die discreet/I’ve seen many things that life can be/hold on to this mic like a memory,” off of the track “Hold the Mic Like a Memory,” shines a light on the beauty of life that is often forgotten. Headphones Hum and Spraycans Rattle is great inspiration to change the world.
