Classical Pick Of The Week: Bryn Terfel At Disney Hall
As we mentioned last week, you can still catch Lohengrin this Sunday. It's a little quiet this week thanks to Thanksgiving, but it looks like a good week for opera lovers. The LA Times just profiled opera star Bryn Terfel, and you can check him out tomorrownight in the other music center, at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. The program is heavy on Schumann (we're a nostalgic bunch).
For the Wagnerites, Salonen is conducting the LA Phil and Bryn Terfel in excerpts from Die Meistersinger, Die Walkure, Lohengrin, and Tannhauser. The program is scheduled for Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 8 PM, and Sunday at 2 PM. And if you're sick of Wagner, Verdi's Rigoletto starts this Saturday at 7:30 PM.
