Andy Summers Tonight @ Amoeba Music, 6pm

Before you
Dear reader, we're asking you to help us keep local news available for all. Your financial support keeps our stories free to read, instead of hidden behind paywalls. We believe when reliable local reporting is widely available, the entire community benefits. Thank you for investing in your neighborhood.

Andy Summers will be at Amoeba Music tonight @ 6pm to sign his just-out book from Taschen, I'll Be Watching You: Inside The Police 1980-83.

There are so many things we could say about this man, about this band, about this book. But all you really need to know is that Andy Summers, guitarist for The Police, is a kick-ass photographer and he's documented three phenomenal years of The Police touring the world.

You could sit at home on your duff tonight or you could head out to LA's best music store to see Summers sign this gem-of-a-book that includes over 600 photos of the band and other on-the-road ephemera. Most photos are previously unpublished and artistically capture landscapes, mad crowds of fans and rare, behind-the-scenes moments.

If you are a fan of The Police, a fan of photography, or a little of both, we can't think of a better place to be tonight at 6pm. If for some crazy reason you need a sweeter deal, Amoeba Music will be auctioning off a print of one of Summer's photographs tonight with the proceeds to benefit WaterAid.
