Elderly Couple Dead After Apparent Murder-Suicide In Carson
A police barricade situation in Carson ended today when police found that an elderly man apparently killed his wife and then himself.
Police arrived at the 500 block of East Morehaven Drive around 6:30 a.m. after receiving a call to “check the vicinity,” City News Service reported. A gunshot was heard from inside a home, and police barricaded the area surrounding it and evacuated some homes.
The SWAT team was sent out, and LA Crisis Negotiation team members tried to communicate with the suspect, ABC7 reports. After more than six hours, police said the apparent standoff was over, identifying the deceased as Roy and Lucille Wills. Family members said the couple had been married for 55 years, and neighbors described the couple as quiet, saying they had lived there for decades.
