Driver Runs Away From Crash After Passenger Dies

A driver ran away from a single-vehicle crash in Westminster in which his passenger died.

The passenger has been identified as 24-year-old Isaias Tang, City News Service reported. Paramedics arriving at the scene saw the passenger outside of the vehicle, where he was pronounced dead.

The crash was reported at 2:54 a.m. and took place on the 14000 block of Magnolia Street. The car in question was a dark-blue, four-door compact.

The driver, described as a white male, was last seen running south on Magnolia Street. Police are asking for anyone who saw the crash happen to call (714) 898-3315.

UPDATED 4:50 p.m.: The driver allegedly veered from the northbound into the southbound lane, hit a wall at a mobile home park and then smashing into a light pole, ejecting the passenger from the vehicle, KABC reports. The driver was also described as having long hair.
