Teacher Says Students Should Have 'Enjoyed' Sex With His Colleagues
After two of his colleagues were arrested for allegedly having sex with students, a West Covina high school teacher has been suspended for saying the students involved should have "enjoyed it."
Art teacher Sean Patrick Kane was put on paid leave after a Facebook rant he wrote on Sunday night regarding the arrests of Melody Lippert and Michelle Ghirelli. Lippert and Ghirelli are alleged to have organized two trips where they had sex with students. In the rant Kane wrote that the students involved "should have just kept [their] stupid mouths shut and enjoyed it."
"He needs to be fired too, that's what I think, because there's no telling what he's doing," an angry parent told NBC 4. "If he feels that they should've kept their mouth closed, or if he feels that it's OK, what is he doing behind closed doors?"
Kane was apparently popular among students at South Hills High, and a #FreeKane movement popped up on Twitter along with a petition for the teacher's reinstatement.
