Cops Investigate "Dark Knight" Massacre Suspect's (Apparent) Sex Site Profile

Congress has cut federal funding for public media — a $3.4 million loss for LAist. We count on readers like you to protect our nonprofit newsroom. Become a monthly member and sustain local journalism.

Someone claiming to be James Holmes and looking a lot like him made up a profile on an adult sex site just a few days ago.

The website features a shot of a man looking like Holmes does here, except with hair dyed reddish-orange hair, which seems to match a description of Holmes offered by law enforcement. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that they're trying to figure out if the profile is real.

It's full of TMI: the profile has information about the size of his "endowment" ("short/average"), and the kinds of flings he's open to ("Women, Couples (man and woman), Groups or Couples (2 women)"). Plus, there's a cryptic message: "Will you visit me in prison?" The profile describes himself as a "nice guy," of course.

Despite what the Onion says, none of us woke up this morning exactly expecting to be looking at a screenshot of a massacre suspect's alleged Adult Friend Finder profile. Thanks, TMZ.

UPDATE 5:25 pm: Actually thanks go to a Reddit user, who found the profile this afternoon, long before TMZ.

UPDATE 7/21: The owners of the website said it looks legit, according to TMZ. The date of birth and address with the account squares with Holmes' and the IP address tracks back to Aurora. The site was created July 5, and someone logged onto it in the last 3 days, the site owners said.
