Quick Facts

  • Today’s weather: Sunny, hazy
  • Beaches: 73-78 degrees
  • Mountains: 90-90 degrees
  • Inland: 91-99 degrees
  • Warnings and advisories: Heat and Extreme Heat Advisories

The heat is back. We're going to see warmer temperatures today as SoCal approaches a mid-week heatwave. And the air quality in SoCal will not be the greatest for the next few days as winds push the smoke from the Gifford Fire toward Los Angeles.

To stay cool, head to the coast where temperatures will be in the mid 70s for L.A. County beaches and up to 84 degrees in downtown L.A. Valley communities will see hot weather, with highs in the upper 80s to upper 90s.

In Orange County, the coastal areas will warm up to 84 degrees, and temperatures will near 90 degrees more inland. Highs in the Inland Empire will range in the 90s, with the warmest areas up to 99 degrees.

In Coachella Valley, temperatures are expected to reach up to 112 degrees.

The National Weather Service is placing Coachella Valley under an extreme heat warning where, starting Wednesday, temperatures will jump to the 110s.

Meanwhile, inland Orange County, the Inland Empire, Riverside and San Bernardino county mountains are under a heat advisory where temperatures from 90 to 105 degrees are expected.

The heatwave is expected to last until Friday.
