Brush Fire Burns In Santa Clarita
Another summertime weekend in L.A. County, another brush fire. A car hit a tree off 14 Freeway and Placerita Canyon Road, after which the flames spread to a bush nearby, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The fire was reported at 12:47 p.m. and firefighters are still on scene to battle the fast-moving blaze.
The fire initially covered at least eight acres, according to ABC. It jumped the freeway and has grown to 300 acres, according to the NBC doppler. The 14 Freeway is closed in both directions and 60 firefighters have been dispatched to the scene, according to CBS.
The fire is approaching the Disney Ranch and the Golden Valley Shopping Center in Santa Clarita.
