California is Very Gay
BoifromTroy hasbeen following California's version of Protecting Marriage. Rather than attempting to limit the definition of marriage to a specific type of relationship, the California Assembly passed Bill (AB) 19 - the Religious Freedom and Civil Marriage Protection Act. The bill grants individual churches the right to define marriage under their terms and that the state will protect and honor those marriages.
Californians opposed to granting marriage rights to gay and lesbian couples plan to battle the bill with a ballot initiative during the 2006 statewide election.
