LAPD Searching For Man Who Tried To Rape Woman In Boyle Heights
A man attempted to rape a woman in Boyle Heights last month, and police are now sharing a video of the suspect to help identify the attacker.
In the early hours of Tuesday, Sept. 29, a man approached the victim in the 1500 block of First Street, reports KTLA. He then followed the woman to Pecan Street, a couple blocks away, where police say he attempted to sexually assault her. When a bystander ran to help the woman, the attacker fled on First Street heading west.
The attacker is described as a Hispanic man—possibly in his early 20s—who is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs roughly 150 pounds. He has black hair and a flat-top haircut.
Police have released a surveillance video that shows the alleged attacker walking along a Metro platform. The attack took place near the Pico/Aliso Station on the Gold Line.
Anyone with information about the incident or who can help identify the suspect is urged to call Detective Lopez, Hollenbeck Area Sex Crimes, at 323-342-8997 during weekday business hours. On weekends and after business hours, calls should go to 877-527-3247.
