Drive-By Shooting Outside Big Party Wounds 14 People
Fourteen people who were attending a party in Bakersfield early Saturday morning were shot in what authorities are calling a drive-by shooting.
KTLA reports that shortly before 1 a.m., a car drove past a party at a house on the 600 block of Stephens Drive in South Bakersfield, and one or more opened fire on the crowd.
Bakersfield Now writes that those who were shot were hit in the arms, legs and chest. All of the victims were taken to nearby hospitals, and are expected to survive, though two of those shot are listed in critical condition.
According to the L.A. Times, there were an estimated 150 people at the party.
So far it is not yet known how many people were in the car or how many shooters there were, nor is there any information about the vehicle, suspects, or motive, according to a release from the Bakersfield Sheriff's Department.
