Abel Munguia, 19, is accused of stabbing a 20-year-old woman in the back on December 8, 2015. He had been free on bail, and on August 3, was arrested again for allegedly trying to gouge out a 50-year-old man's eye. He appeared in court on Wednesday, where he was told he was being charged with two separate felony assaults, which would increase his bail to over $1 million, the L.A. Times reports.Munguia excused himself to go to the bathroom and never returned. According to LAPD Det. Patty Batts, Munguia's family had paid the bond for him to be released to an immigration program for potential deportees. This program allowed Munguia to wear a monitoring device around his ankle instead of remaining in custody. That monitor was later found in Carson, without Munguia, after his escape, according to City News Service.

Munguia has been described as "very dangerous." Anyone who knows where he might be should call Batts at 310-726-7861. Anonymous tips can be submitted to www.LACrimeStoppers.org or by calling 800-222-TIPS.
