6th Street Bridge Collision Injures 9

The scene on the 6th Street Bridge at 4:10pm this afternoon
Ron Meyers of the LAFD reported this afternoon that a collision took place on the 6th Street Bridge downtown around 3:30pm and left nine injured. Plumes of smoke could be seen from a distance immediately following the collision. Three involved in the accident sustained critical injuries, six sustained minor injuries and all parties were taken to local hospitals.
The bridge was closed for over an hour as ambulance and fire crews tended to the scene and put out a vehicle fire. Three vehicles were involved in the collision and the cause is unclear at this time. LAPD is investigating. Traffic on the Eastbound 4th Street Bridge backed up more than usual as of 5:55 P.M.
