Victim of Hollywood Gunman's Shooting Rampage Has Died
Music executive John Atterberry, who was hit in the face and neck by a gunman in Hollywood on Friday, has died as a result of his injuries, reports L.A. Now.
Atterberry, 40, was the only person seriously injured when Tyler Brehm began firing shots randomly at the intersection of Sunset and Vine. He was sitting in his car at the time of the attack, and was initially expected to survive his wounds. He was taken to Cedar's Sinai, and was pronounced dead at 4:51 p.m. today, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Atterberry formerly served as the vice president at Death Row Records, and later worked with acts like Jessica Simpson, Christina Aguilera and The Spice Girls.
It's not clear exactly why Brehm, who was killed by police at the scene, went on the shooting rampage, but reports indicate that he had recently broken up with his girlfriend of four years and may have been using prescription drugs.
