Detail of GOOD Magazine's chart. See it in full and in interactive mode here. If Los Angeles is going to be the greenest city in the nation, making it walkable should be a major part of that effort. A vehicle found on fire with a body inside this morning on a Studio City/Valley Village street has now turned into a bomb squad situation. Upon investigation, "some sort of wire" was found underneath the body, prompting them to call the bomb squad, according to a LAPD spokesperson. Because the vehicle was found in an underpass on Radford Street (map), the 101 Freeway may be shut down, warned KNX1070, which states a possible "Intermittent...

You shouldn't bother them, but if you enter the waters these days, you can come home say you swam with the sharks because it's leopard shark season at the beach. Before you...

"Reason #2,187 to Love Orange County: Because in Orange County--where nice abs are a spiritual quest--someone would actually drive a car like this." | Photo by C-Monster via LAist Featured Photos on Flickr Orange County is 34 cities and 789 square miles big and has, for a long time, been a symbol for Republicanism. That may not be the case anymore, finds the New York Times. At the very least, the demographics have shifted...

Tiësto Pasquale Rotella is comparing it to "Footloose." In the movie dancing is banned, but here in Los Angeles, his company got the boot from the city of Los Angeles for a concert he had scheduled for October. Rotella's Insomniac, Inc. organized the Electric Daisy Carnival, which ended in hundreds of injuries and the death of a 15 year-old-girl and prompted local politicians to discuss how to approach permitting rave events in the future....
