The South Gate man accused of killing his 9-month-old daughter has been returned to Los Angeles after he fled to Mexico, where he was ultimately detained, according to the Daily News. 20-year-old Jose Tulio Deras allegedly fought with his wife, then fatally harmed his infant daughter, whose death came as a result of "blunt force trauma injuries."

Several homes in a Pasadena neighborhood were evacuated this morning after a resident discovered a grenade inside their home in the 300 block of Parke Street, according to CBS2. A bomb squad from the LA County Sheriff's Department was sent to investigate, and were able to dismantle and remove the device. A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of being intoxicated after he passed out at the wheel of his vehicle, which happened to be stopped on train tracks in Pacoima.
