The tacos served up at the seasonal weekly hilltop farmers' market at Hollywood's Yamashiro have attracted a fanatical following, and now its time for those tasty bites--and the chef behind them--to step out on their own. Komida, the off-shoot storefront project of Yamashiro Executive Chef Brock Kleweno, is opening as-planned October 6th.

It all began with a naked couple drinking some booze while parked behind a Laguna Beach restaurant in the wee hours. While cops were having a chat with 38-year-old Diandre Lemont Lopez and 21-year-old Diana May Andara, who were parked behind the White House Restaurant at 3 a.m. on September 19, they discovered "43 fraudulent gift cards and credit cards strewn across the front seat and dashboard of the car."

If you're a Bank of America customer and you swipe that handy debit card for purchases, get ready to have a $5 monthly fee charged to your account starting in early 2012. The bank announced the impending imposition today, and intends to use the added revenue to help pad themselves against losses they'll incur on new caps placed on fees merchants pay for debit transactions.

Is there "pervasive abuse" going on inside our jails? That's the accusation levied by the American Civil Liberties Union in a new report that targets Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, and calls for his resignation. "Sheriff Baca bears ultimate responsibility for the horrific details we uncovered compiling this report and must step down," said Peter Eliasberg, legal director for the American Civil Liberties Union.
