  • A man accused of fatally shooting another man on the Las Vegas strip and causing a chain-reaction explosive crash that claimed the lives of two others was ordered today to remain behind bars without bail in L.A. while awaiting extradition to Nevada.
  • When it comes to old familiar New York versus Los Angeles smackdown, we can admit they have us handily beat in their ability to drink legally at bars until 4 a.m. Now, however, a California State Senator is putting forth a bill that would give cities the option to let their bars serve until nearly sun-up.
  • A deceased female was found by a passerby on a valley sidewalk. The unidentified woman, thought to be between 30 and 35 years old, was discovered at around 5 p.m. Wednesday evening outside a home in the Granada Hills area.

Now the Beverly Hills restaurant is the one shelling out the big bucks, this time in fines and back wages stemming from labor violations.
  • Authorities in Orange County say an armed attack on two 12-year-old boys may have been a robbery, not the kidnapping and sexual assault attempt the circumstances may have first suggested.
  • The Los Angeles Unified School District has settled a whopping 58 legal claims filed in conjunction with the sexual abuse of students at Miramonte Elementary School in South L.A.
  • Sure, Los Angeles is home to a robust Chinese community with a bevy of delicious restaurants specializing in all sorts of of dishes. But few things better reflect the well-meaning spirit--bastardization, if you must--of a phenomenon ultimately dubbed Cal-Asian cuisine is the Chinese Chicken Salad. Come on--how much more L.A. can you get than a power lunch favorite that has a Hollywood backstory?
