But we strongly suggest heading over to Echo Curio to catch goth-infused electro act Zola Jesus.

English indie rockers Field Music are poised to perform in-store at Amoeba Music in Hollyweird. And, lastly, Hello Stranger front woman and keytar goddess Juliette Commagere (LAist Interview, Review) will be gracing the Viper Room, warming up the stage for Québécois alternative rocker Melissa Auf Der Maur, who is best known for her stints playing bass for Hole and the Smashing Pumpkins. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Roxy to catch LA-based indie pop quartet Robotanists, who will be ringing in their latest endeavor—2010's Shapes and Variations. LA-bred pop quartet Oh Darling and Pollyn are slated to kick things off.
  • Last Friday evening LAist photographer Simon Cardoza made an unprecedented hundred-foot journey between the Echo and the Echoplex, capturing local indie rock outfit Foreign Born (LAist Interview, Review), Portland's own experimental electronic duo YACHT (LAist Interview, Review), Georgia-by-way-of-South Carolina dream-pop maestro Washed Out and Small Black all in one night!
  • Tonight English-born American singer-songwriter, actress, and former stand-up comedian Nellie McKay will be performing Doris Day's songbook at the Alex Theatre in Glendale. Prolific San Franciscan experimental garage rockers Thee Oh Sees are poised to headline KSCR Fest at USC's E.F. Hutton/Founders Park with none other than Eagle Rock-bred indie rock outfit Princeton (LAist Interview), LA-bred psych rock trio the Entrance Band and local blues-infused indie rock duo Rumspringa (LAist Review, #2, #3), among many others. And, lastly, Oakland-by-way-of-D.C. indie pop label Slumberland Records will be ringing in twenty some-odd years of its existence at the Echo with Boston-bred trio Pants Yell!, Melbourne-based sextet Summer Cats and local singer-songwriter Devon Williams, among many other label mates of course. But we strongly suggest doing whatever it takes to get into the Walt Disney Concert Hall to catch critically-acclaimed French duo Air. Tulsa-bred singer-songwriter AM is slated to kick things off.
  • Tonight prolific Washington, D.C.-based rock outfit Ted Leo and the Pharmacists will be headlining the Troubadour. English indie rockers Field Music are poised to take on the Bootleg Theater with none other than LAist favorite, local prolific songwriter John Wood, who performs under the pseudonym Learning Music. And, lastly, LA-bred pop rock quartet the Like will be gracing the Smell in Downtown. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echoplex to catch Florida-based surf-infused rock outfit Surfer Blood (LAist Review). LAist favorites, LA-bred lo-fi pop act Best Coast and local electro-pop singer-songwriter Active Child, among many others, are slated to kick things off.
  • Tonight, as always, local multi-instrumentalist/producer extraordinaire Jon Brion (LAist Interview, #2, Review) will be jamming with friends at the Largo at the Coronet. Hauschka, or rather Düsseldorf-based pianist and composer Volker Bertelmann, is poised to grace the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever with none other than LA-bred pianist and composer Dustin O'Halloran. And, lastly, local indie rock outfit...
  • LAist was in attendance as an eager crowd filled up the sold-out El Rey Theatre for a night of googly-eyed swooning. Zooey Deschanel & Co.—best known as She & Him—took the stage in support of their latest album, 2010's Volume 2. The real highlight of the night though was the harmonious performance by the Living Sisters, which featured a very expectant mother-to-be Inara George.
  • Tonight Portland-based alt-country duo She & Him, or rather Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, will be performing to a sold-out crowd at the El Rey Theatre with the Living Sisters—a triumvirate of venerable female troubadours, which includes Inara George, Becky Stark, and Eleni Mandell—in tow. San Franciscan indie pop outfit the Morning Benders (LAist Review, #2, #3) are poised to headline the Troubadour with none other than LAist favorites Miniature Tigers (LAist Interview, Review) and We Barbarians. And, lastly, LA-bred psych rockers Dead Meadow will be ringing in their latest endeavor—2010's feature-length film and soundtrack Three Kings—at Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever for free. But we strongly suggest heading over to Spaceland to catch local indie rockers the Deadly Syndrome (LAist Review, #2, #3, #4), who will be ringing in their latest effort—2010's Nolens Volens. Signals (LAist Review), the phoenix to rise from the ashes of the Mae Shi (LAist Interview, Review, #2), are slated to kick things off.

New Jersey-bred lo-fi kings Titus Andronicus are poised to take on the Bootleg Theater with in local rock and roll outfit Slang Chickens tow. And, lastly, Danish indie pop outfit the Asteroids Galaxy Tour will be headlining the Echo. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Viper Room in Hollyweird to catch Kansas City-bred Grammy Award-nominated pop singer-songwriter Janelle Monae.
