The Dodgers had plenty of opportunities to run away with the game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

It was an inopportune time for the Dodgers to have a lazy Sunday afternoon. They just came off of a game where closer Kenley Jansen fell asleep on the mound forgetting to call timeout leading to the tying and winning runs to score with two outs in the top of the ninth. The Dodgers on Sunday committed a season-high five errors as the Padres won 7-2.

The Angels had a 5-2 lead over the Yankees heading into the bottom of the eighth inning. Angels starter C.J. Wilson's night was done making 101 pitches through seven innings giving up two runs. Scott Downs, who had given up only...

In the battle of Claytons, it wasn't Matt Kemp or Andre Ethier who both made their returns from the disabled list. It wasn't Clayton Kershaw who was coming off of his All Star Game triumph. No, the decider of the game was Mark Ellis whose two-run homer in the sixth inning off of Padres starter Clayton Richard gave the Dodgers the 2-1 win.

A panorama of Dodger Stadium. (LAist/Jimmy Bramlett) LA Dodgers defeat Arizona Diamondbacks 4-1. Dee Gordon's thumb was wrapped up tighter than a burrito after Wednesday night's game. Gordon said he didn't want to go on the disabled list, but that's exactly where he landed. The official diagnosis was a torn ulnar collateral ligament in the right thumb and will require surgery. Gordon is due to miss six weeks. The move makes room for the...

Strange days are here again. After one of the worst two weeks any Dodger team had experienced offensively, their 4-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds once again vaulted them in sole possession of first place.
