  • For the first time in Lakers history, a free agent has opted to take less money to leave the team. Or did he?
  • At least it wasn't the 16-1 slaughter that the Dodgers endured on Friday, but the 9-5 loss against the Colorado Rockies isn't exactly a morale lifter either. Again it was Chris Capuano on the mound who only made it through 4 1/3 innings giving up six runs, five of them earned. Brandon League also made an appearance and didn't fail to disappoint giving up two earned runs in the 1/3 inning he pitched.
  • I really try to have some perspective on things and not get caught up in the moment. But what Yasiel Puig, Hanley Ramirez and the Dodgers are doing has my jaw lying prostrate on the floor.
  • Chris Paul's tweet this morning said it all:
  • See what happens when I go to the game as a fan? The Dodgers lost to the Phillies 16-1 Friday night, their worst home loss since 1947 just months after Jackie Robinson made his debut in Brooklyn. Sanity was restored on Saturday as I returned in a professional manner, meaning I had not a drop of the Coors Light that flows aplenty at the stadium, and the Dodgers beat the Phillies 4-3.
  • Things really are looking up for the Dodgers. Despite Zack Greinke having a subpar start, the Dodgers still managed to win their sixth straight game in a 6-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.
  • I really want to say the Dodgers have turned the corner. For starters they beat the Giants 4-2 getting the three-game sweep, the first home sweep by the Dodgers since 2009. They got yet another dominant performance by starter Clayton Kershaw marred only by a Buster Posey two-run homer in the fourth inning that gave the Giants their first lead of the series.
  • I don't know whether this is frightening, uplifting, depressing or hopeful. Here are two sentences Dodger manager Don Mattingly uttered before Tuesday's game against the Giants: "This is the team. Our lineup is getting pretty much at full strength."
  • "I don't really understand what all of the fuss is about," Clippers president Andy Roeser said during the press conference. And here I thought the Clippers finally decided to be a competent NBA team.
  • The Lakers are want Dwight Howard back. Since they are not allowed to talk to him until July 1 when free agency begins in the NBA, they've opted for billboards.
