  • For only the second time this season, the Dodgers have won three games in a row. With the wünderkind Yasiel Puig leading the way, the Dodgers struck late for the 3-1 win over the Giants.
  • According to multiple reports, the Boston Celtics and the Clippers have reached an agreement sending head coach Doc Rivers to the Clippers.
  • I got bumped because of golf. I recorded a segment for this week's Going Roggin that airs on NBC4 at midnight on Sunday. But my little "Jimmy in Distress" segment got bumped because they were airing a very special episode at the conclusion of the US Open. So instead of my segment, they talked about golf.
  • It was as if Joe Garagiola and Joe Torre were communicating with carrier pigeons, but they finally announced the suspensions and fines for the Dodgers and Diamondbacks today for their brawl in the seventh inning on Tuesday.
  • A night after the Dodgers and Diamondbacks abused each other, the two teams took it out on the public Wednesday night. For four hours, 21 minutes the two teams tried to best one another. It took a wild 12th inning to decide things as the D-Backs took the series win with an 8-6 victory.
  • A baseball game broke out at the fights today. So that phrase is usually reserved for hockey, but for one night it was the Dodgers and Diamondbacks who created the turn in the phrase.
  • Things are getting interesting at the Ravine. Today the Dodgers recalled shortstop Justin Sellers from Triple-A Albuquerque after optioning Sunday's starter Matt Magill back to Triple-A after his emergency start. While with the Isotopes, Sellers batted .337 with a homer and 17 RBI in 24 games. With runners in scoring position he was batting .321 (9-for-28).
  • This is getting ridiculous. The Dodgers have used the disabled list 19 times this season after announcing this morning that Ted Lilly was going back on it for the third time, this time with a neck strain.
  • Former Anschutz Entertainment Group President and CEO and current Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment President and CEO Tim Leiweke gave an interview with Maple Leafs sideline reporter Paul Hendrick for Maple Leafs TV. Let's just say some of his comments were interesting.
  • He keeps doing it. When the Dodgers need him, Yasiel Puig continues to deliver. "It just feels like something's going to happen everytime he gets up," Skip Schumaker said.
